Full time position available for a Director of Instructional Technology in Indian Prairie School District 204 starting July 1, 2013. This is a 12 month position. Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to assure effective use of instructional technology for the district.

Job Summary:

1. Coordinate ongoing professional development and implementation of Indian Prairie School District Instructional Technology Plan.
2. Serve as liaison between Instructional Service Department and Technology Service Department on all technology related matters.
3. Provide consultation to the schools on the evaluation and selection of technology equipment and related material (software, CD-ROMS, videodiscs, etc.)
4. Coordinate instructional technology professional development, develop trainers within existing district staff, design and evaluate advanced workshops, and locate training resources outside the school system as needed.
5. Serve as district level contact and support person for school-based instructional technology initiatives.
6. Assist in the selection and purchasing of technology related resources by developing bid specifications for instructional technology equipment and related materials.
7. Chair teacher committees in the development, implementation and professional development associated with an embedded K-12 technology committee.
8. Investigate emerging technologies and assess their potential for cost effective use by students.
9. Coordinate district level software license acquisitions.
10. Serve as the district copyright officer, responding to staff  requiring information in this area and investigate the changes in copyright law as it applies to emerging electronic media.
11. Coordinate with the Technology Service Department regarding professional development for administrators, technology assistants, teachers, clerical staff and substitutes with existing and newly acquired technology systems not necessarily associated with instruction.
12. Evaluate all aspects of technology integration and professional development activities and make recommendations for improvement.
13. Evaluate curricular software and instructional integration as part of textbook adoptions.
Perform other duties as assigned



Qualified candidate must have a valid Illinois Administrative (type 75) certificate and experience in providing leadership in implementing technology in an instructional setting. Experience as a classroom teacher is required, administrative experience is preferred.
